FCK Off Danielle Smith

Tuesday, February 6 @ 5:20 pm 9:00 pm

Alberta Premier Marlaina “Danielle” Smith is attending an event at a conservative private club in Toronto, not even a week after announcing plans to attack the safety and autonomy of trans youth in Alberta, depriving them of medically necessary healthcare and completely disregarding their best interests.

Let’s give her the welcome she deserves, and send a strong message: we won’t back down until trans people are able to thrive in a world free of (government-enabled) discrimination!

Bring banners, pride flags, as well as snacks and water. Wear nondescript clothing, and cover up any noticeable features such as dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos.

Masking is mandatory at this action. COVID is currently at its second-highest surge ever. To ensure community safety, we require that all participants wear a mask. N-95s will be provided if you don’t have one. Bonus: it helps make you less identifiable in the eyes of anti-trans actors.

We do not expect police violence or arrests. However, it is important to note that we have seen an escalation in violence from Toronto police over the past few months – particularly at actions in solidarity with Palestine, but TPS may attempt to use similarly escalatory tactics here. There is also a chance of facing harassment from right-wing event-goers, as well as from right-wing reactionary media (e.g. Rebel News). Therefore, we ask you to assess the risk capacities of you and your crew and plan accordingly.
